Robert Inesta, DC, L.Ac, CFMP, CCSP

Dr. Robert InestaDr. Inesta was inspired to begin his journey in health the hard way – as a patient in pain with multiple injuries and having gone through multiple surgeries. He is a Chiropractor, Licensed Acupuncturist, Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner, Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner and fascial specialist. He helps patients become the healthiest versions of themselves through lifestyle consulting, education and removing internal obstacles.

His belief is that the patient is the true healer and that health conditions stem from communication breakdown between the trillions of cells and microorganisms that make up our bodies. The doctor’s role is to first listen to the patient’s story, then teach and empower them to do what they are designed to do – heal!

He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at New York Chiropractic College, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude, was inducted into Phi Chi Omega Honor Society and was the recipient of multiple clinical achievement awards.

Dr. Inesta is also a Licensed Acupuncturist after having completed a three year Masters of Science degree and board licensing exams in acupuncture. He combines Traditional Chinese Medicine with Scalp Acupuncture, Acupuncture Physical Medicine and other contemporary styles of needling based on modern research in neuroscience and physiology.

Frustrated with the mainstream approach to common chronic illness such as autoimmune disease, digestive disorders, diabetes, obesity, chronic fatigue and chronic pain, he felt there had to be a better way. Functional medicine seemed like a promising solution. A lifelong student, he committed to learning and incorporating the system and after years of training, completed two certifications through Functional Medicine University and the Living Proof Institute. He has improved his personal health tremendously by applying the knowledge he’s acquired along the way.

His extensive postgraduate training consists of functional medicine, nutrition, neurochemistry, functional rehabilitation, soft tissue therapy and biomechanics, clinical neurophysiology and electrodiagnosis. He is certified in Active Release Technique, Stecco, Fascial Manipulation, Graston Technique and Kinesiotaping, and is a member of the Fascial Research Society.

He is the founder and clinical director of ViaVitae Health in Greenwich, CT where he provides functional medicine consulting, and is the clinical director of Westchester Sports & Wellness in Harrison, NY where he provides chiropractic, acupuncture and fascial therapy services. He has written numerous articles on health, co-authored the book Principles of Functional Exercise and lectured extensively. His hobbies include spending time outdoors, reading, writing, teaching, learning, exercising and playing music. His favorite way to spend time is with his family.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
